Sky Sports understands Tranmere Rovers are chasing Dumbarton midfielder Scott Agnew.
The 25-year-old has caught the attention of a host of clubs south of the border after impressing this season for First Division Dumbarton.
Agnew, who started his career at Rangers and represented Scotland at youth level, has scored 11 goals from midfield this term.
A host of clubs have been scouting Agnew this season and Tranmere are thought to be leading the chase for his signature.
Agnew's agent, Chris Reid, is not surprised that a number of clubs are chasing the goalscoring midfielder and he hopes to resolve his future soon.
"I'm aware teams from down south were watching Scott, his scoring record over the years has been immense," Reid told Sky Sports.
"He has the talent to play at the highest level and it's no surprise that teams like Tranmere Rovers want the player.
"It will be interesting to see what offers come his way and how this develops in the near future."
