Max keen to Power on for Rovers

Max Power hopes he will be able to partner Tranmere skipper James Wallace in midfield next season for the League One club.

The 19-year-old was given a chance in the Rovers first team after Wallace was ruled out for the campaign in October with a knee ligament injury. Power has started every game since for Ronnie Moore's side and is now hoping to be paired with the man he replaced when next season gets under way. He told the club's official website: "I feel I've done myself justice and hopefully I can form a partnership with James and we can drive the team on. "The sooner James is fit and back the better for the club. He's an outstanding player and captain. His are big shoes to fill." Power also admitted that he was close to leaving Prenton Park on loan before he received his chance in the team. He added: "A lot can happen in football. In October I was close to joining Nuneaton on loan in the Conference. "The gaffer kept telling me to keep working hard and my chance would come and unfortunately we lost James through injury and I had to step in."
