Owain Fon Williams has vowed to keep working hard and take his opportunity for Wales when it comes along, after being left as an unused substitute against Austria.
The Tranmere goalkeeper remains without an international cap after watching from the bench as Boaz Myhill completed the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 win over Austria.
The 25-year-old has represented his country at various youth levels, including Under 19s and Under 21s, and has been called up several times without getting on to the pitch.
However, the highly-regarded shot-stopper has told Sky Sports that he will just channel all his energy into helping Tranmere continue their fine campaign to date.
"It would have been good to have won my first cap and play international football, but these things can't be helped," he said.
"I'm doing everything I can here at Tranmere because I'm really enjoying my football at this fantastic club.
"I'm working with a really great set of people and if I ever get the chance to earn my first cap for my country it will be a magnificent honour.
"I'll just continue to do my best for Tranmere by trying to keep clean sheets and working hard to improve during training and whatever comes internationally along the line would be a massive bonus."
