Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore enjoyed a "great team performance" after his table-toppers beat Notts County 1-0.
A 22nd-minute goal by substitute Joe Thompson, who had replaced the injured Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro early on, sealed the win for Rovers. Moore said: "We battered them really, especially on the counter attack. On another day we could have had three or four. If you're going to win a game that is how to do it. "We've been compact - they couldn't get through us, so they started lumping it and the back four have won everything that's gone in there. "I can't remember our keeper making a save which shows how well we've played."
