Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore hailed a "superb" performance from Andy Robinson after his magical hat-trick sank Carlisle 3-0.
Robinson was on target twice in the space of seven first-half minutes, the first coming after the former Leeds player rifled the ball across goalkeeper Adam Collin into the top corner, before a 25-yard free-kick doubled the visitors' advantage.
The veteran midfielder arrowed a 30-yard free-kick into the net after half-time to complete his first ever hat-trick and send Moore's side to the top of the table.
The Rovers boss said: "I was screaming at Robbo not to hit that third because it was miles out. The two free-kicks were superb.
"He's 32 and has great ability and keeps the ball for us. He is a winner and it's nice that he could come here and get himself a hat-trick.
"It was a fantastic performance. We have to keep our feet on the ground. We have done nothing yet, but we are playing some decent football."
