Sky Blues trial for former Tranmere and Motherwell midfielder
Coventry City have taken Steven Jennings on a week-long trial following his release by Scottish Premier League outfit Motherwell.
The 27-year-old is expected to figure in the Sky Blues' opening pre-season friendly against Hinckley United on Saturday.
The former Tranmere Rovers midfielder is available as a free agent and Andy Thorn is keen to see how he would fit into his plans.
Coventry are readying themselves for life in League One, following relegation last season, and want proven Football League performers on board.
Training
Jennings' gritty approach to the game should appeal, and Thorn will give him every opportunity to impress.
"Steven has joined us for training for a few days so we can have a look at him," the Sky Blues boss told the Coventry Telegraph.
Sky Sports revealed last week that a number of clubs in England were keen on acquiring Jennings' services.
Sheffield Wednesday, Peterborough United and Doncaster Rovers are all believed to be keeping a close eye on his situation.
