Aldershot boss Dean Holdsworth was relieved to pick up another win against Hereford after a fortnight without a game due to the weather.
Guy Madjo's first goal for the Shots proved enough to secure a 1-0 victory, with Michael Townsend's second-half dismissal rubbing salt into the wounds for the visitors. "It's been a frustrating two weeks but we've done a lot of work with the players in the gym, and a lot of business (in the transfer market)," Holdsworth said. "I'm delighted with a 1-0 win, Guy Madjo scored his first goal and we got a clean sheet, so it's happy days. "I brought him here to score those sorts of goals, those tap-ins, and that's what he's done. Guy was in there and it's great because it gives him a lift to be in the right position at the right time. "(Hereford boss) Jamie (Pitman) put fresh legs out there which I expected to cause us problems but we broke our duck in front of the fans and we go away with three points. "I said to the squad before the game that we had 19 games to go and the target is 57 points, to push for those play-offs will take two points a game and championship form. Confidence will play a massive key. I want us to be a footballing side and play attractively, but it has to be winning football."
