Swansea City are closing in on the capture of Rory Donnelly after their undisclosed bid for the young striker was accepted by Cliftonville.
The 19-year-old, who is currently Cliftonville's top scorer in Northern Ireland's Carling Premiership, has reportedly been attracting interest from a number of English sides.
Swans boss Brendan Rodgers recently saw the teenage prospect in action and the Premier League outfit have confirmed they will now negotiate personal terms with the player.
"I'm pleased to we now have a written agreement with Cliftonville over the possible transfer of Rory Donnelly," Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins told the club's
official website.
"However, we are yet to finalise terms with the player. That's the next process."
Swansea manager Rodgers added: "Rory is a boy who is a talent."
Cliftonville chairman Gerard Lawlor says he would be sad to see Donnelly leave the club but admitted that Swansea's offer was a good deal for all parties.
"It's with a heavy heart that we have decided to accept Swansea's bid. But we can't stand in Rory's way," Lawlor said.
"It's a good deal for the club and for the player and I would personally like to place on record my sincere thanks to Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins for the respect he has shown our club throughout this process.
"In addition, and assuming Rory is able to agree terms, all at Cliftonville FC would like to wish him all the best in his future career."
