Brown rues 'mistakes' in defeat

Preston manager Phil Brown wants his side back to winning ways to stay on course for promotion after going down 3-1 at Huddersfield.

Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes fired a second successive hat-trick and 13th goal in five games, while Preston's consolation came when Iain Hume crossed from the right and Juvhel Tsoumou finished it off from close range. Brown, whose side crashed to a fourth successive defeat, said: "It's a disappointing result. The first goal was always going to be important and the mistake by the keeper cost us dearly. When they got the second goal it gave us a mountain to climb." Brown added: "It's a tale of two teams. We won seven on the bounce and now we've lost four on the bounce and we're looking around the changing room for characters. "One or two players are making mistakes, but we have no one to bail them out. "We did enough in the first half to get something out of it, but Huddersfield didn't make mistakes and we did. We need to get back to winning ways as quickly as possible."
