Tranmere manager Les Parry rued his side's missed chances as Rovers slipped to a 2-1 League One defeat against Carlisle.
After finding themselves two goals down before the interval, Tranmere rallied to make several openings in the second period but lacked a cutting edge in front of goal.
Parry said: "We made it difficult for ourselves by conceding two poor first-half goals.
"We created a few chances in the first 20 minutes, but a couple of incidents off the ball seem to affect us more than it did Carlisle.
"We created many more chances in the second half, but you have got to take them.
"There is no column in the records for misses - just goals scored and conceded. We swarmed all over them for the second 45 minutes, but couldn't get that second goal."
