Rovers 'gutted' by FA decision

Tranmere cannot sign Brazilian Vinicius Dantas after an appeal for a visa and work permit was rejected by the Football Association.

Striker Dantas spent two weeks on trial at Prenton Park earlier this summer and had hoped to sign a one-year contract. Upon hearing the decision, Rovers boss Les Parry told the club's official website: "We're gutted by this decision. "We thought we had a good case and that Vinni would have a bright future with us, but unfortunately that's not to be. "I'd like to wish Vinni the best of luck with his career. He's a great lad with a lot of talent and potential and I'm sure he'll prove himself elsewhere."
