Keeper wants to repay Dale for chance to play in League One

New Rochdale goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams has set his sights on bringing Charlton Athletic back down to earth. The Addicks gave new manager Chris Powell a perfect start to life in the Valley hot-seat with a 2-0 win over Plymouth at the weekend, their first win in League One since mid-November. Charlton head to Rochdale this Saturday and Fon Williams is keen to repay his new club for giving him the chance to step back up to League One. "I'm very grateful to Rochdale for giving me the opportunity to move back into League One and hopefully I can repay them with my performances on the pitch," Fon Williams, who joined from Stockport County last week, told skysports.com.

Delighted

"I'm just delighted to be here and there are a lot of games left in the season and I'm looking forward to playing in as many of them as I can. "Charlton Athletic are a massive club and I remember not too long ago seeing them on Match of the Day against the big guns of the Premier League. "In that respect it is nice to be playing in the same division as the likes of Charlton and Sheffield Wednesday because they are massive games that you want to be involved in. "Anyone can beat anyone in this division and I think that we are more than capable of doing just that on Saturday. "All the boys will be looking forward to the game and hopefully we can give a good account of ourselves and come out with all three points."
