Tranmere skipper John Welsh is convinced new signing Mark McChrystal will prove a major hit at Prenton Park.

The Irish centre-back, 26, made an impressive first start for Rovers at MK Dons last weekend following his arrival from Derry City, on a contract that runs until the end of the season. And midfielder Welsh told the Daily Post: "Mark was commanding. "It was definitely a positive performance from him. He is strong. "He looks like he can go through a brick wall for you. But he was also shouting. "He was telling people where to go. I think Mark can only be good for this club."
