Hutchings delighted to bring in defender from City

Walsall have completed the signing of defender Clayton McDonald on an 18-month contract from Manchester City. McDonald spent a spell on loan at the Banks's Stadium earlier this season, making eight appearances for Chris Hutchings' side. He has now been allowed to leave Premier League big-hitters City and has secured a deal with Walsall until 2011. The 21-year-old will be available for Saturday's game against League One promotion contenders Charlton and Hutchings is delighted to have snapped up McDonald. "We are delighted to have secured Clayton's services on a permanent basis," Hutchings told the club's official website. "He settled into the club extremely well during his loan spell and is an emerging player of undoubted talent and ability "He has been given an excellent grounding in the game at Manchester City and we will reap the benefits as he continues his development here at Walsall. This is a good signing for the club."
