Moore hails Zola potential

Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore has tipped young striker Calvin Zola for a bright future.

Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore has tipped young striker Calvin Zola for a bright future.

The 21-year-old recently extended his contract with Tranmere until 2009 and Moore view him as outstanding prospect.

Zola has spent much of his time at Prenton Park on the sidelines, but returned from injury as Rovers beat Blackpool 2-0 on Friday.

Moore then arranged a practice game against Welsh side The New Saints in midweek in an attempt to further boost his fitness.

"Calvin is getting stronger. He had a tough game in midweek but he came through it well and he needed the 90 minutes because it just doesn't compare with training," Moore explained.

"He's 6ft 4ins, he's quick and he can score goals. At 21, he's only a pup and if he can stay fit and we can work with him on the training ground, he can go as far as he wants to."
