Tranmere Rovers have been handed a blow with news of an injury to striker Gareth Taylor.
The former Nottingham Forest and Burnley front man has been ruled out for six weeks with a fractured jaw.
Taylor, 33-years-old, suffered the injury just last weekend against Forest but he is ready to defy the medics and make an ahead of schedule comeback, according to his manager Ronnie Moore.
"He has been unfortunate and has two little cracks on the side of his jaw," Moore said.
"The experts say he'll be out for six weeks but Gareth wants to play.
"He's got a week of doing nothing to let it settle down, and then it's down to the lad when he plays."
