Tranmere have been hit with the news that Calvin Zola face between three and six weeks on the sidelines.
The young striker picked up a hamstring injury in Tranmere's Carling Cup game with Hull and will now need a period of recuperation.
Tranmere have started the new campaign in an impressive fashion but Rovers chief Ronnie Moore admits Zola's absence will be a genuine blow.
"We've worked hard with him so it is disappointing," Moore told the club's official website.
"But there's not a great deal we can do about it. He did it as soon as he came on against Hull.
"He got a little pull on it, but played on. I think he'll be a big miss for us as we can see a lot of promise in him."
