Tranmere Rovers boss Ronnie Moore is attempting to lure defender Ian Goodison back to Prenton Park, after he returned to his homeland at the end of last season.
The 33-year-old Jamaican was allowed to leave the League One club in May, before boss Moore took over the reins.
But the new manager is now trying to tempt him back with the milestone of 100 games for the club within his reach.
"We have put an offer in for Ian Goodison and we are waiting for him to come back to us," Moore told the Liverpool Daily Post.
"Hopefully we can get him back on board because he can fill a number of positions for us and you need that kind of flexibility."
Goodison was a mainstay in Rovers' disappointing campaign last term, and has played 99 times for the team in all competitions so far.
The former Oldham Athletic coach knows that he will need all the talent he can muster, if he is to satisfy the fans and the board by challenging for promotion in the coming season.
