Tranmere Rovers boss Brian Little is already planning for next season by snapping up Jamaican midfielder Theodore Whitmore from Livingston.

Little knows all about Whitmore having had him when he was in charge of Hull.

Whitmore has agreed a one-year deal at Prenton Park and Little was delighted to capture the experienced midfielder.

"We have in Theo a midfield player with great creativity and an eye for a goal and he's a wonderful dribbler of the ball," Little told the club's official website.

"People might not associate him with skill but believe me that's his trademark. He's creative, very bright and makes things happen out of nothing.

"I know he will settle here quickly and I'd like to think we might create a very firm crowd favourite."

Meanwhile, Rovers have released Micky Mellon, Shane Nicholson, Sean Connelly, Graham Allen and Alex Hay as Little tries to trim down his squad.
