TWO of the match officials involved in the controversy that dogged the Tranmere-Sunderland FA Cup clash last Saturday have been suspended by the Premier League.

Referee Rob Harris and Tony Green, the assistant referee who allowed the player to be substituted, are due to appear before an FA commission, along with fourth official David Unsworth, in ten days and will be banned from officiating before then.

The officials were adjudged by the FA to have been responsible for allowing Tranmere to substitute Stephen Frail for Clint Hill (above) when the Rovers defender was dismissed in the final minutes of the cup tie.
