Curle expecting double boost

Carlisle boss Keith Curle is expected to have a double fitness boost ahead of Good Friday's vital clash with Portsmouth.

The Cumbrians welcome Pompey to Brunton Park desperate for three points to boost their League Two survival hopes and could call on Sean O'Hanlon and Courtney Meppen-Walter. O'Hanlon has missed the last two games with a knock while Meppen-Walter has also been absent for those fixtures with an abdomen problem. And their return could boost the defensive pool which will be stripped of Troy Archibald-Henville following his red card at Oxford on Saturday. Curle said: "Sean will be back on Friday and Courtney Meppen-Walter is getting there now as well. "Danny Atkinson has come in and he can play at right-back or as a centre-back. Paul Thirlwell has been training well, and he can do that role, so we'll have options to get us the job done on Friday."
