Carlisle boss Keith Curle praised his side's determination after they picked up a second successive win, a 1-0 win at Morecambe.

The Cumbrians collected only their second away win of the campaign thanks to a David Amoo goal five minutes into the second half and Curle believed his side were good value for the victory. He said: "The supporters who came here in great numbers expect to see their side play with enthusiasm, determination and grit and that is definitely what they got. "We haven't been able to train over the past couple of days so the preparation has not been ideal and I've had to talk through a lot of things with the players and they did me proud. "They took in all the instructions and looked solid throughout and reduced them to very few chances. "We know it was going to be a battle against a side who have done well at home in recent weeks and we got the all important first goal. The lads then stuck it out and I think we deserved the win in the end which was great for the fans. "They travelled here in superb numbers and that win was very much for them." A goal from Amoo five minutes into the second half earned the points. Amoo made the most of a neat counter attack with a neat finish to beat Scott Davies from 12 yards out from the right hand side of the area. Morecambe hit back and dominated the rest of the game but failed to score for the second game running. Padraig Amond did have an effort ruled out for offside before forcing Dan Hanford into his only save of note in the final minute. The first half saw plenty of effort for both sides but few clear cut chances. The closest either side went to breaking the deadlock came in the 43rd minute when Kevin Ellison's far-post header beat Dan Hanford but was superbly cleared off the line by Antony Sweeney. Morecambe boss Jim Bentley said his side lacked penetration in the final third of the field. He said: "It was hugely frustrating to have so much of the ball and get nothing from the game. "Overall I thought we played some good stuff and we got in a couple of times but the final ball wasn't good enough. "We have to show more imagination to unlock tight defences. We knew it was going to be a battle but once they got the first goal they defended with strength and we played into their hands in many ways and couldn't make the breakthrough. "We were playing against a big club who had a game plan. "They are a big, physical side who came here to play for the counter attack and they did it well. We kept putting in balls into the area that they defended pretty easily and we didn't get down the sides anywhere near enough after the opening 20 minutes or so."
