Burnett boosted by home win

Dagenham manager Wayne Burnett hailed the fight of his players after they come from behind to defeat Carlisle 4-2.

Derek Asamoah's opener was cancelled out by Billy Bingham's free-kick before two Ashley Chambers goals, either side of Jamie Cureton's strike, but Dagenham in control. Cureton then hit the crossbar from the penalty spot after the veteran forward was fouled by Tom Anderson. Carlisle captain Danny Grainger curled in a stunning consolation as the Daggers earned a first win in the league since October 11. Burnett was happy with the win and felt the key was not giving away goals through individual errors. He said: "We are absolutely delighted with the victory. Carlisle have been on a bit of a roll and Keith Curle has galvanised the team. "We have managed to eventually get a home win but we haven't done anything different. The players have not worked any harder than usual. "They have continued to work and continue to battle and the only difference is they didn't make any individual errors. "I can't fault this group of players they work tirelessly and they continue to work tirelessly. They have never not given me everything they can. "Even at 4-2 you can sense they are a little nervy but that is football. We were strong, we were men and we competed. "Their assistant manager came over to us and said 'you outfought us today' and we did." Carlisle manager Keith Curle felt his side gifted Daggers their goals during the 4-2 defeat. "Goals change games and we started the game well, as we wanted to do," said Curle. "A lot of emphasis this week has been on starting the game well because our away record hasn't been good. "They got two goals in quick succession and it gave them the impetus and the lift but even then I am thinking 'we can get something out of the game if we get in at half time 2-1'. "But next thing you know a goal goes in and it is 3-1 and then you think the next goal is vital. "You do the team talk and tell the players if we score early we will get something out of the game but bang we gift them another goal. "I don't think they had to earn their goals it wasn't good combination or good passages of play but I think all the goals could have been nullified and stopped."
