Carlisle United boss Greg Abbott was full of praise for his side's efforts in the hard-fought 1-1 draw with Crawley Town.
A second-half strike from Crawley defender Mat Sadler cancelled out a tremendous free-kick by Jon-Paul McGovern but Abbott was keen to take the positives.
"The players really put in a shift and it was a terrific defensive display at times," he said.
"We've come to Crawley and got something and we absolutely deserved our point. Generally, if you get performances you get results."
Carlisle have only won three of a dozen games since the turn of the year, but Abbott believes his side will soon be climbing the table.
He added: "I'm delighted with the spirit in the camp and we have gained a point. It was a better performance last Saturday (a 1-0 defeat at Notts County), but this was a better result. We put bodies on the line.
"Now, with such a long journey back home, we have got to make sure we take care of the lads ahead of a very tough game at home to Brentford on Saturday."
