Carlisle manager Greg Abbott has saluted Rory Loy after he fired the winner at leaders Tranmere at the weekend.
Former Rangers striker Loy, 24, who spent a year on the sidelines after breaking his leg at Preston on Boxing Day 2011, scored his first goal in his third match back since returning to first-team action on New Year's Day.
"We're all absolutely delighted for Rory," Abbott told the club's official website. "He's been through a tough year, but has dealt with it and has got himself back into contention.
"He had run out of steam a little bit by the end of it, but you could see that he was causing them problems with his pace and with the way he was linking up the forward play.
"That will have done him the world of good and you saw from the reaction of the lads that they know how much his goal meant."
Abbott's side have lost only two of their last seven league games, winning four of them, and are now 10 points clear of the relegation zone.
"We're in a much healthier position, but it's important that we finish the season off properly," he added.
"We want to get as high as we can so that we go into the summer feeling really positive."
