Abbott lauds Cumbrians spirit

Greg Abbott admitted Carlisle had to scrap for their 2-1 win over Chesterfield after taking a long time to find their rhythm.

The Spireites went ahead through Drew Talbot but Ben Parker equalised in the second half and Francois Zoko's 10th goal of the season six minutes from time eventually secured the points. Abbott said: "We may be classed as slightly fortunate to win it, but you take what you can get in football. One thing we have is fantastic spirit and determination. "We didn't ask enough questions of Chesterfield, but found a way to win it. We had to change the game and get higher up the pitch quicker because in the first half our passing was laboured."
