Cumbrians to appeal red card

Greg Abbott has confirmed Carlisle will appeal against the dismissal of striker Lee Miller during his side's 4-0 defeat at Hartlepool.

Miller was sent off for his lunging challenge on Hartlepool midfielder Andy Monkhouse in the 27th minute, while Pools teenager Luke James stole the show with two goals. Antony Sweeney and Colin Nish were also on the scoresheet in Saturday's League One clash at Victoria Park. Abbott said: "We have to appeal for Lee. He was horrified and thought it was a foul against him." The Cumbrians boss added: "It's hard to say where the goals have come from, first 15 minutes we had a go and the goals in the second half came because we are chasing the game, trying to claw back the deficit. "There was nothing to hold on to - they were two-up by the time the red card happens."
