Pascal Chimbonda has declared that he expects to be back in action within three weeks after receiving good news from a specialist over his injury.
Chimbonda recently spent a month on the sidelines with a hip flexor problem and broke down 25 minutes into his return in the 4-1 defeat to Watford on New Year's Eve.
However, the 32-year-old full-back took to his Twitter account on Monday to hand manager Dean Saunders a welcome fitness boost.
He tweeted: "Just av (sic) result from the specialist good news will be back in 2 weeks and a half. I am happy."
Rovers have endured mixed fortunes so far in Chimbonda's recent absence.
A 2-0 Championship win over Barnsley was followed up by an FA Cup exit by the same scoreline at the hands of Notts County on Saturday.
