FA probe Madine behaviour

The Football Association are investigating the behaviour of Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Madine following his dismissal at Brunton Park.

Former Carlisle forward Madine, 21, who joined Wednesday last January, was sent off for a second bookable offence in Tuesday night's encounter, but it was his later reaction which could land him in further trouble. An FA spokeswoman told the News & Star: "Our current position is that we are investigating the matter." Following his second yellow card in the 82nd minute, Madine appeared to motion with his head towards Lancashire referee Paul Tierney and made comments towards home fans on his way to the dressing room. Madine was later involved in a heated exchange with a supporter on social networking website Twitter, writing: "[sic] useless fans! Needed the man in black 2 get u the win. Enjoy mid table peace out." The striker's Twitter account was later deleted.
