Abbott: Noble deal nearly done

Midfielder Liam Noble is almost certain to stay at Carlisle for another season, manager Greg Abbott has revealed.

Noble, who has made 19 appearances this season on loan from Sunderland, could even make the switch permanently, though another temporary deal looks more likely. Abbott told the Times and Star: "That one is nearly done and it has been verbally agreed. I just need to speak to Sunderland to dot the I's and cross the T's. "Hopefully nothing gets in the way of that at the last minute. But as things stand we have agreed that Liam will come back next year. "It will probably be on a loan deal but if I could make it permanent, I will try. That is something that might develop in future."
