Skysports.com understands Carlisle defender Tom Aldred has turned down a new deal at Brunton Park.
Aldred made his first-team bow for the club last season and he impressed during his five outings.
The 19-year-old was named man-of-the-match on his full debut against Bristol Rovers and his showings are believed to have attracted the interest of a host of clubs higher up the football pyramid.
Carlisle were keen to tie down the highly-rated defender to a new deal to ward off potential interest in Aldred.
However, Aldred has rejected the club's offer and his agent, Clive Hart, has confirmed the Scotland Under 19 international is now considering his options.
"Tom has written to the club and turned down their offer of a new deal," Hart told skysports.com.
"We will now sit down and consider all our options for Tom."
Carlisle will be due a compensation fee if Aldred does end up leaving the League One club this summer.
