Striker ends six-year stint at Gers by returning to Spain
Sporting Gijon have signed Nacho Novo on a two-year contract to bring the striker's successful spell at Rangers to a close.
Novo joined the Gers from Dundee six years ago and he scored 72 goals en route to winning multiple trophies during his time at Ibrox.
The 31-year-old was offered terms to stay with the SPL champions, but he has opted for a return to Spain with Sporting.
Having largely been used as a substitute during the past season by Gers, Novo has accepted the chance to play more regular first-team football with Sporting.
Prior to agreeing a deal with Sporting, who finished 15th in the Primera Liga this season, Novo had been linked with Middlesbrough in addition to clubs in Greece.
Novo becomes the third senior player to leave Ibrox this summer, following DaMarcus Beasley and Steven Smith.
