Midfielder wants to wait until end of season before signing

Anthony Griffith will wait until the end of the season before making a decision on signing a new two-year contract at Port Vale. The midfielder has been offered terms to stay with the League Two club after featuring prominently for Micky Adams' side this season. However, with Vale still in contention for a play-off place, the 23-year-old wants to delay signing the deal currently on the table. "I know it's probably making the club wait, but I'd like to see the season through and then hopefully sit down and talk about it," said Griffith. "Nothing's concrete yet, but they have put it down. We'll wait and see." Griffith joined Vale from Doncaster Rovers in 2008 and he is closing in on a century of appearances for the club, although he is still waiting for his first goal.
