Hamilton boss Billy Reid has rewarded Martin Canning and Joel Thomas with 12-month extensions to their contracts. Reid has also continued his planning for next season with five players told that they will not be offered fresh terms. Kenny Deuchar, Rocco Quinn, Stephen Ettien, Derek Asamoah and Chris Swailes have all been informed that they are free to find new clubs. Defender Canning and striker Thomas both played a key role in Hamilton's first season back in the top flight.

Reid told the Daily Record: "I've agreed one-year deals with Martin and Joel and I'm delighted to get both tied up. "Martin has done really well for me and has been a major part of the defence this season and Joel has played his part up front and deserves another contract. "I wanted to clear up spaces in the squad for fresh faces and build on what we've done this year so some player will be leaving. "Kenny Deuchar, Rocco Quinn, Stephen Ettien, Derek Asamoah and Chris Swailes will all leave with our best wishes."
