Young Carlisle United forward Glenn Murray has joined Stockport County on a short-term loan deal.
The 22-year-old striker has moved to Edgeley Park on a month-long deal, which could be extended to a three-month spell if all goes well.
He mainly featured on the bench at Brunton Park as the Cumbrians won their way to the League Two title last season, but he managed to bag four goals in that time.
United boss Neil McDonald sanctioned the move and hopes the experience will strengthen Murray's chances of a future at the club.
"This is a good opportunity for the lad to get himself playing first team football at a very good level," McDonald told the Carlisle's website.
"If he stays for the three months he can then get himself back up here and put some pressure on the others and, no doubt, he'll be full of confidence."
County narrowly managed to avoid relegation from League Two last term and will be hoping some of League Two champion's success can rub off on the club in time for the visit of Hereford United on Saturday.
