Transfer news: Swansea City happy with central defensive options

Swansea City are not planning to sign another central defender this summer, according to chairman Huw Jenkins.

The Swans have been linked with defensive reinforcments in the shape of Napoli's Federico Fernandez, Jack Rodwell of Manchester City, Celtic's Virgil van Dijk and Bosnian ace Muhmamed Besic.

Ashley Williams and Chico Flores have also been linked with moves away from the club - but Jenkins insists that manager Garry Monk is more than happy with his central defensive options as they stand.

"I think Garry has got his four central defenders and until that changes, that's the way it will stay," the Swansea chairman told the Evening Post.

So far Swansea have bolstered their squad with three new signings in the shape of Lukasz Fabianski, Bafetimbi Gomis and Marvin Emnes.
