Former Portsmouth forward Aruna Dindane, who is now turning out in Qatar, is seeking a return to England in 2013.
Dindane spent one season on loan at Fratton Park in 2009/10, but failed to secure a permanent move to the Premier League.
He has spent the last two years in the Middle East, but will become a free agent at the end of the current campaign.
The 32-year-old Ivory Coast international feels he could still do a job at the highest level and is hoping he will be offered the opportunity to take in a second spell in English football.
"I am a free agent at the end of the season," said Dindane.
"I have contacts to return to the French Ligue 1, but I want to play in the Premier League again.
"I liked it at Portsmouth. It was a difficult time for the club when I was there, but I managed to score 10 goals despite missing a lot of games. Now I want to play there again.
"There are some contacts with clubs. My agent is working on things.
"I have options in Europe. There are clubs in France, Portugal and Turkey, but I want to play in England."
Swansea, West Brom and Southampton are reported to be mulling over an approach for Dindane's services.
