Defender facing three months out with thigh problem

Swansea have suffered a new defensive injury blow after Kyle Bartley was ruled out of action for three months. The summer signing from Arsenal picked up a thigh injury in training and faces as many as three months on the sidelines. Bartley was in contention to start at Aston Villa on Saturday for his first Premier League appearance for the club since making the move from Arsenal last month, but he is not expected back until December. The news is a blow for Swansea boss Michael Laudrup as he is already without left-back Neil Taylor for the remainder of the season following his broken ankle. Centre-half Chico Flores is also missing for the next three games following his red card against Sunderland. The selection problems mean Laudrup may be forced to throw recent signing Dwight Tiendalli straight into the side for the game with Villa.
