Deal sees Alfebi spend the rest of the season on loan at Wrexham

Swansea have signed Curtis Obeng from Wrexham for an undisclosed fee after the defender signed a three-and-a-half-year contract at the Liberty Stadium. Sky Sports sources earlier on deadline day revealed the Premier League club were set to complete a deal for the 22-year-old and it has now been made official. Obeng underwent a medical in Swansea on Tuesday and the transfer was completed while Brendan Rodgers' club were drawing 1-1 with Chelsea. The former Manchester City youth Academy right-back will now be eligible for Saturday's Premier League match at West Brom.

Toughen up

Obeng's deal also sees Swansea youngster Daniel Alfebi set to spend the rest of the season on loan at Wrexham. "I'm looking forward to it," Alfebi told Swansea's official website. "I needed to go out and play games, gain experience and toughen up. "The manager feels it will be a good move for me. He feels it is the next step for me. "The added bonus is that Wrexham are flying at the moment and pushing for promotion back to the Football League. It puts more pressure on every game, which is what I want. "I know one or two of the lads there from the Wales set up and if I can help Wrexham - a fellow Welsh club - achieve their promotion goal it will be a huge bonus."
