Swans to proceed with style

Rodgers stands firm over passing game

Swansea's discomfiting start to Premier League life will not force a change of approach from manager Brendan Rodgers. Former Watford boss Rodgers led City up through the Championship play-offs playing an attractive passing style of football. And a 4-0 thumping at Manchester City has altered nothing, with Rodgers determined to continue playing the ball on the ground. "I have got big confidence in how we play," Rodgers told the South Wales Evening Post. "It was the same in the league last year - people were asking whether we could get out of the Championship playing the way we did. "I understand you have got to get in behind teams as well, but I will not be telling my goalkeeper to smash it up the field if that's what you're asking. "Our philosophy is our philosophy and that's what we're comfortable with. I think we can compete and do very well in this league by playing the way we play."
