Premier League newboys agree £1.5m fee for Holland keeper

Swansea have agreed a £1.5million fee with FC Utrecht for Holland goalkeeper Michel Vorm, manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed. The Holland international, who is in the Dutch squad for their midweek friendly against England at Wembley, is in the final year of his contract with Utrecht. The 27-year-old has attracted interest from throughout Europe and was thought to have been on the radar of Hamburg, Cologne, Besiktas and Galatasaray as well as several French outfits. But the Swans appear to be in pole position to sign the shot-stopper ahead of their inaugural Premier League campaign. Rodgers has been looking to strengthen his goalkeeping options following the departure of Dorus de Vries to Wolves, with Jose Moreira already having joined from Benfica. "We have agreed a fee, obviously personal terms are still to be agreed," Rodgers said. "It happened last night and we hope he is a player we can get an agreement on."
