Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers has rejected reports linking him with a move for Grzegorz Sandomierski.

Sandomierski not on Swansea's radar

Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers has rejected reports linking him with a move for Polish goalkeeper Grzegorz Sandomierski. The Premier League new boys are on the lookout for goalkeeping reinforcements after seeing Dorus de Vries leave for Wolves earlier this month. Sandomierski was thought to be Swansea's top target to replace de Vries, but Rodgers insists he is not on their list of targets and that he had never heard of the Jagiellonia Bialystok custodian. "I have read that we are after him, but I have never heard of the guy before," Rodgers told the South Wales Evening Post. "I have also had about five agents ringing me up who are supposedly representing the lad. It's a case of welcome to the Premier League I think. "We have got people in mind, but he is not one of them. We are actually looking for a No.1 and No.2."

New deal

Rodgers confirmed Yves Ma-Kalambay will be offered a new deal to keep him at the Liberty Stadium. "Yves will be offered another deal - he is an outstanding support goalkeeper and he was very loyal last season," added Rodgers. "He is one I would like to keep, but we still need two more keepers going into the Premier League."
Disappointed
Rodgers also expressed his surprise and disappointment over the departure of De Vries. "Dorus was obviously a big part of my plans and I am surprised and disappointed that he's gone to be honest," continued Rodgers. "I was led to believe the negotiations were going well, but he has decided to go and be a No.2 goalkeeper in the Premier League rather than a No.1 goalkeeper in the Premier League. "But, like every club, we move on, and we must now focus on who is going to come in."
