Mark Gower feels Swansea can knock Fulham out of the FA Cup after Sir Alex Ferguson's recent praise.

Midfielder bouyed by Ferguson's comments

Mark Gower is confident Swansea City can knock Fulham out of the FA Cup following recent praise from Sir Alex Ferguson. The Swans head to Fulham for a fifth-round replay on Tuesday night after the first clash finished 1-1 at the Liberty Stadium. The winners of the tie will host Premier League leaders Manchester United in the quarter-finals next month, with Ferguson having recently applauded Swansea's footballing style. Gower has taken heart from the United manager's comments and he believes Championship side Swansea have 'nothing to fear' about a trip to Craven Cottage.

Confidence

"We can beat Fulham without a shadow of a doubt - and that's not just us saying that," he told Wales Online. "When you hear someone like Sir Alex Ferguson saying what he did you know you must have a chance. "Sometimes you question yourself whether you're playing as well as you think, but then you hear what people like Sir Alex say and the TV coverage, and realise we are that good at the moment and we have nothing to fear. "Even talking to (Fulham midfielder) Simon Davies after the first game, he was saying how frustrated he was because he hardly had a kick and had to chase shadows for 90 minutes. "If you can do that to a Premier League team then it says something and we can't help but take confidence from that."
