Adebayo Akinfenwa has held talks with Swindon Town about a possible switch.Adebayo Akinfenwa has held talks with Swindon Town about a possible switch to the County Ground.
The striker has turned down a new one-year contract at Swansea and looks set to move on with his current deal due to expire this summer.
League One clubs are queuing up for the 25-year-old's signature with Gillingham previously identified as a possible destination.
Swindon are one of two other clubs to express an interest in Akinfenwa and he is expected to decide where his future lies next week.
Akinfenwa has confirmed discussions with The Robins recently and he would be open to joining Paul Sturrock's side.
"I have had talks with Swindon and it was very positive," he told the Swindon Advertiser. "I have met Sturrock and he knows what he is talking about and he is putting together a good team.
"I got very good vibes from him and in that respect everything is looking good but now I have got to sit down with my family and decide which is the best move for all of us.
"Location is important for my family. I am a London boy and one of the clubs is close to London but Swindon would be fine too as I have got a place in Bristol so it would be just down the road for me.
"By early next week everything should be sorted and the decision will be made."
