Swansea City midfielder Shaun MacDonald is out for the next six weeks after needing a hernia operation.
The 18-year-old has been suffering with the problem for some time, and has decided to go under the knife and have the problem treated.
"Shaun has been suffering with a groin strain for the last six to eight weeks,'' Swans physio Richie Evans told the club's official website.
"The hernia problem has developed from there.
"We went to see the consultant yesterday (Thursday) and he confirmed that Shaun needed an operation.
"Fortunately the surgeon had a slot available today, so we rushed Shaun in so that he didn't have to wait."
