Tranmere Rovers and Swansea City strengthened their spots in the League One play-off zone with home wins.

Ronnie Moore's Rovers saw off lowly Millwall 3-1, while Swansea beat struggling Bournemouth 4-2 at The Liberty Stadium.

A double blast midway through the first half from Gareth Taylor and Chris McCready put Tranmere in control at Prenton Park.

Millwall pulled one back before half time through Chris Hackett, but Chris Shuker's 89th minute goal secured the points for the hosts.

Swansea also required a late goal to make the game safe against Bournemouth, after almost blowing a three-goal lead.

Izzy Iriekpen had the hosts in front on four minutes before Rory Fallon scored on 58 minutes, and again on the hour mark.

Bournemouth reduced the arrears on 79 minutes through Danny Hollands and Brett Pitman grabbed another five minutes from time.

But with The Cherries pressing for a dramatic equaliser, Swansea snared a fourth goal via Lee Trundle in stoppage time.
