A Football League transfer tribunal has ordered Swansea City to pay £35,000 for Adebayo Akinfenwa.

The striker switched to South Wales in the summer after leaving Torquay United, but because the player is under 24 he cannot move for free and compensation must be paid.

The two clubs failed to agree a fee and so a tribunal has now ruled what Swansea must pay.

A £35,000 basic fee is to be paid in two instalments, followed by two further instalments of £25,000 after 20 appearances and again after 40.

Swansea must also pay £25,000 if they gain promotion, while Torquay will also be entitled to 15 percent of any fee should he be sold.
