Swansea's automatic promotion hopes have suffered a blow following a 1-0 loss to Mansfield Town at Field Mill.

Richard Barker's goal on the stroke of half time settled the contest with both sides finishing the contest with just ten men.

The visitors were first to lose a player on 63 minutes when Garry Monk saw red for collecting his second yellow card.

Parity was soon restored when Simon Brown was dismissed for the home side just five minutes later for violent conduct.

Despite the additional playing room The Swans could not muster an equaliser and missed the chance to move top of League Two.

Elsewhere, Shrewsbury remain perilously close to the drop zone following a goalless draw at Bury's Gigg Lane.
