Johnson: We should have won

Oldham manager Lee Johnson described their pre-season clash with Melbourne City as a "good tactical game" following their 1-1 draw.

The visitors went ahead shortly after the break through substitute David Williams but a late goal earned the Latics a draw as Spanish substitute Miguel Llera found the net from six yards. Reflecting on the match, Johnson told the club's website: "It taught the lads some lessons on the pitch. I think we should have won and we had the chances to win but they dominated the possession and the aerial zones. "We've got to make sure when we get those good chances, we stick them in. There were certain things I was really pleased with. I thought Mike Jones and Brian Wilson were superb. "There were a lot of good things in the game along with some bad and average but the unknown quantity of Melbourne was good for us because it allowed us to check on ourselves."
