Johnsons face December showdown

Oldham boss Lee Johnson joked that a meeting with his dad's team Yeovil in December might affect his presents on Christmas Day.

The fixtures were released on Wednesday morning and, following the Glovers' relegation under Gary Johnson last term, the Latics boss immediately sought out the games between the two clubs. Son beat father in the first meeting in April 2013 at Boundary Park, which will be the setting for next season's first clash between the two on December 13. "I obviously looked out for the Yeovil game first and with it being on December 13, that could affect my Christmas and the number of presents I get," a tongue-in-cheek Lee Johnson told Latics' official website. Following the relegations of Doncaster and Barnsley, along with the promotions of Fleetwood and Rochdale, there will be far less travelling for the northern clubs in the third tier. That is something Johnson is hoping can work to their advantage with bigger gates expected at Boundary Park, which is undergoing renovation on a new North Stand this summer. He added: "With Rochdale, Preston, and Doncaster in the division, I'm sure they will bring good support so I hope with the new stand going up we can create the best atmosphere possible."
